Privacy policy
The app collects nothing.
Badum has no account, no advertising and no analytics. What you do in the app stays on your device unless you choose to send it. This website keeps your email only if you join the list.
Last updated 1 November 2026.
The microphone
If you choose to play an acoustic kit or a practice pad, Badum asks to use the microphone. It uses the sound to work out when you hit and which drum it was. This happens on your device as you play. No audio is recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
Badum also uses the microphone, if you allow it, for a short check that times new headphones or a speaker: it plays a few clicks and listens for them. Nothing is kept but the delay it measured.
To stop using the microphone, choose something else to play on in the app, or turn it off for Badum in the iPhone's Settings.
Your progress
The names of the players on a device, their takes, passes, practice time and settings are saved on that device. They are not sent to us. If your device is backed up to iCloud or a computer, Apple includes them in that backup under your own Apple Account. Deleting the app deletes them.
“Save a copy” in Settings puts a player’s progress in one file, for you to keep or take to another device. It goes only where you send it. “Bring in a copy” reads such a file on the device.
“Then and now” makes a picture of your first take beside your best, on the device. It goes only where you share it.
The widget shows your next lesson and this week’s minutes. The app hands it that on the device; nothing is sent.
Reminders
If you turn on the daily reminder, or start the free trial and allow its reminder, Badum asks to send notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your device; there is no server that sends them.
Purchases
Badum Full, yearly or once, is bought through Apple. We never see your name, your payment details or your Apple Account. Apple tells the app only whether Badum Full is open on this device, and whether a trial or plan is running, so the app can show the right lessons. Badum uses Apple's own purchase system and no other payment or tracking service.
Ratings
After a level or a song is passed, Badum may ask Apple to show its rating request. Apple shows it at most three times a year; your answer goes to Apple, not to us.
Electronic kits and Bluetooth
When a kit is connected, Badum reads the notes it sends in order to score your playing, and remembers the kit’s name and how its pads are laid out. The notes are not stored beyond the takes described above.
If you pair a Bluetooth kit, Badum asks to use Bluetooth, only to find Bluetooth MIDI kits nearby and connect the one you pick. It doesn’t keep a list of devices around you.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The waitlist on this website is for people aged 16 or older, or a parent.
The waitlist
If you join the list on this website, we keep:
- your email address,
- whether you chose iPhone and iPad or Android,
- which page you joined from, and the date.
We use them only to send the email you asked for: one when Badum is out, and one when it comes to Android if you chose Android. We don't send anything else, and we don't share or sell the list. We don't keep your IP address with it.
The list is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site (Cloudflare Workers KV). If we use an email service to send the launch email, we will name it here first.
We delete your address within 30 days after sending the email you signed up for. To be removed sooner, reply to any email from us or write to hello@badumdrums.com, and we delete it. You can also ask what we hold about you.
Legal basis: your consent, given when you join (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time.
Site statistics
We count visits to this website with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and doesn't follow you across sites. We see only totals: how many visits a page had, from which country and which site linked to it.
This site uses no cookies, no advertising and no tracking pixels. Cloudflare, which hosts it, may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
If you write to us
If you email us, we keep your message and address for as long as it takes to answer you and deal with the matter.
Badum keeps a short record on your device of crashes, hangs, slow starts and errors, so a problem can be found. It is never sent by itself. If you turn on “Include diagnostics” when you write to us from Help, or send the diagnostics file yourself, your email carries it: the crashes, hangs, slow starts and errors Badum noted on your device, Apple’s daily figures for Badum (launch times, memory, battery, processor, storage and network use), the Badum and iOS versions and your device’s model. It holds no names, takes or sound, and we use it only to answer you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, and you can complain to the Croatian data protection authority (AZOP, azop.hr). Write to hello@badumdrums.com.
