Most kits use the square USB TO HOST port. A USB-C iPhone needs a USB-C to USB-B cable, often sold as a printer cable. Which cable to buy
- Plug in and open Badum.
It finds the kit by itself. Bluetooth kits are paired inside Badum.
- Play your first beat.
The first lesson takes about five minutes. The basic rock beat is the fourth.

Which kits work?
Any electronic kit that a computer sees without installing a driver, over USB or Bluetooth MIDI. Badum is built and tested on a Yamaha DTX452; Roland, Alesis and other kits should work the same. If yours doesn't, tell us which one.
My kit came with its own coach. Why Badum?
The kit's coach checks timing. Badum gives you a path: what to play tonight, what comes next, and songs with a band to play it in.
Do I need to read music?
No. Beats scroll past as shapes: a cross for the hi-hat, a circle for the snare, a block for the kick.
